The Design Process
Initial Meeting or Programming
During our initial meeting we will be learning about what you like, what inspires you and how you use your space. We will also explore the architecture and style of your home so we can make sure there is a logical connection between the exterior and interior spaces. As we discuss details, we also set the tone and parameters of the project. Be sure to express all your desires as well as your fears so we can create an environment that supports your lifestyle!
The Work
This is where we apply our expertise and create a design that is perfect for you and your family. During this phase we will do some space planning, select materials and create design boards to help you get a better sense of scale, finishes, colors and textures. For those clients needing a little extra help visualizing ideas, we may also create some computer- generated renderings. At this point you will also be asked to make some decisions so we can move to the next phase of the project. Expect to be told to trust your designer… Remember, we bring an extra set of expert eyes to the project and are working for your benefit. Our ultimate goal is your complete satisfaction!
The Waiting
This is what most people consider the slow part of the design process. One thing to keep in mind as we make final selections and start ordering, is that high-end products, handmade or unique items, and fine furnishings take time to ship. They also have to be installed by careful hands, so expect long timelines and allow time for detailed quotes. Be patient as we work with vendors and contractors to make sure all details and costs are accounted for. It is normal to experience anxiety, doubt and even some fear during this stage… Just trust the process and know that you hired us to create something unique you most likely would have never conceived on your own!
The Final Reveal
Our perfectionist nature is at its highest level during this phase of the design and we tend to do a lot of Project Management. We will frequently visit your job site, answer installation questions, receive and inspect deliveries, and work hand in hand with your architect, contractor and installers. This is definitely a hectic, but exciting time for everyone. Our highly detailed work will result in transformation. Shortly after timelines are met, we start to add our final touches, help you with furniture and accessories and make sure everything is perfect in your space. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing our clients happy in the spaces that inspire and support their lifestyle!
